
Meet Liz
Elizabeth "Liz" Grasher has a long family history in the South Sound. Her Great Grandfather served at Camp Lewis during World War I and her Grandparents retired to Anderson Island in the 1970's. Liz has lived in Steilacoom for over 11 years and values the beauty, community, history and spirit of the Town of Steilacoom.
Liz has served Steilacoom in many ways. She was elected as a Steilacoom Town Councilmember in 2021 and previously served as a Steilacoom Planning Commissioner. As a Steilacoom Town Councilmember she is the Town's representative on the Pierce County Regional Council. Liz was extremely honored to be designated as the 2024 Steilacoom Citizen of the Year.
Liz is an active volunteer/member of the Steilacoom Historical Museum Association, Friends of the Steilacoom Library (previous board member), Kiwanis Club of Steilacoom, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, leads Sunnyside Beach clean ups, co-leads Steilacoom's National Night Out, board member on the Pierce County Behavioral Health Advisory Board (to include Opioid Subcommittee member), board member for the Living Access Support Alliance (LASA), faculty advisor for Saint Martin University's National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI), leads Steilacoom's Memorial Day wreath laying, in addition to many other projects (a Little Free Library at Perkin's Park) in Steilacoom and around the local community.
Liz has a master's degree in counseling psychology, works as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) for Joint Base Lewis McChord, and is an adjunct psychology professor at Saint Martin's University. She is passionate about volunteering and being an active community member. She has 2 Yorkies, Oliver and Murphy, who she enjoys walking and spending time with. Liz also enjoys staying active, completing puzzles, and reading when she has time.
